A Better Way

“And your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it.”

Isaiah 30:21, ESV

Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out which way to go in life. I can mull over which way all night, I can ask friends for their opinions, or the best option: seek God’s direction for the best way. The problem is that God’s way is based on my faith that I’m going the right direction. What I really want is an arrow out of heaven pointing me in the best and most preferred direction.

Yet, if I’m honest—He’s never failed me in leading me in the way for me to walk. I’m not saying every way felt good because often, it’s usually a faith stretcher. While I may be 100% sure God is leading me a certain way, I do struggle ‘in the way’ when things don’t always work out as I thought.

Walking in the better way that God leads usually involves time of prayer and searching of scriptures to boost my faith confidence. Sometimes in the moment, I don’t have a lot of time for prayer and Bible study, so I do my best to have regular morning times with God. In this manner, whatever comes my way during the day—I have already established my God centered focus that I can lean back on.

God always leads the way. Many times, it’s a matter of taking that step of faith and trusting that even if I get off the right path—He will gently guide me to where I need to be. If the pathway gets difficult or seems unmanageable, it only deepens my dependence on Him and less on my own intuitiveness.

He loves us and wants only the best for us. God will allow us to be stretched beyond our understanding if it causes us to grow closer to Him.
