Don't Lose Hope!

“But he who is joined with all the living has hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”

Ecclesiastes 9:4

Sometimes I wish I could have a ‘redo’ with my significant life decisions that I made with much ignorance. I know I’m not alone in this feeling. Some of us have messed up and feel like we will never be able to recover whether it’s trust from loved ones, financial complications, medical issues, etc. Perhaps we’ve lived a life of regret and shame leading to the conclusion that our lives were wasted. Regardless, whether you’re young or mature—truth is, that if you’re still living—there’s hope!

What I love about our God of second, third, fourth chances—He always has a plan and purpose for our lives. He doesn’t run out of ideas after we messed up and can no longer go back to changing it. While we can’t go back in time and change our actions—we can start where we are at the moment and change how our lives end up.

Our Father in heaven loves us so much that He doesn’t waste our pain or mistakes. Rather, He uses them to draw others who’ve made or are in the process of making the same mistakes. Our testimonies of why we got where we are can be powerful tools to help others not make the same mistakes.

God doesn’t always remove the consequences of our bad choices, but He will be with us in them. He restores our hope for purpose and direction while we still have breath in our body. There is no hope to go back in the past; however, there’s hope for the future in Christ Jesus.

There’s hope to accomplish God’s will for our lives as long as there is breath in our bodies!
